Chefman Belgian Waffle Maker



Good Item
I tried several different items made by this company and have found them all to be great and reliable. Unlike every opther item of similar cost, this waffle maker not only works but looks good on my counter where it would be an eye sore otherwise.

So far...not impressed.
We have only used it once. But it does not appear to heat evenly. The center is browned but the circumference is almost raw. The tray which I assumed is to catch any batter drip, did not. The drip spilled outside the catch tray.

In general it is flimsy and cheap.

Horrible cheap unit unless...you are an extremist and like your waffles either burnt or raw. First you have to season the unit with oil and turn it on to "burn" off what ever it is they want you to burn off. I just followed directions. The smell is horrible, like a toxic chemical. Then you let it cool and wipe clean since you cannot detach the iron to clean.
Second when you go to get it ready to use brush with oil again even though its teflon coated ( as per instructions) Then you wait till the green light says its heated up and pour your batter in. Now I tried making waffles in this thing 5 times and the smell never went away plus left little black marks on waffles like pieces of the coating.

For the most part your waffle smells like chemicals and the handle stopped closing/locking thus rendering it useless since without it locking your batter will leak out. The lights are not really an indicator, they are more of suggestions lights.
