Kalorik BL-24242 500-Watt Electronic-Speed Blender with 50-Ounce Glass Jar, Aztec Copper

Worst Blender Ever
I purchased a Kalorik Blender Model BL 24242, 6 weeks ago, used it daily to make breakfast smoothies, and thought the blender was very sturdy and did a good job of smoothies. I was very happy with it until the glass jar broke. This particular day, within 15 seconds into the smoothie function, the glass jar broke into two pieces between the base of the glass jar and the top edge of the glass base housing. I called Kalorik Customer Service, asked for a return authorization to send back the blender. I wanted a completely new blender. I was told the glass container was not covered under the warranty and was not given a return authorization by the Kalorik Customer Service Rep. All she would continue to say was that the glass container was not covered by the warranty but she cheerfully offered to sell me another glass jar at $19.95. Overall, if I could I would give the blender a zero (0) rating, as I believe it doesn't rate even a 1 in my humble opinion and I'm sorry I bought this...

Good blender if it keeps working...
I received this blender for Christmas from my son, who bought it because he'd seen lots of good reviews on it. It worked really well for the most part for the first few months. We also smelled something hot/burning when it was running. Then it would occasionally not run the blades, even though it sounded like it was working. My husband finally looked into it because we kept seeing metal type debris under the jug and what looked like a wire inside the jug. It turned out to be some metal that appears to have been sheared from the blade assembly. We called Kalorik customer support who, after an hour on the phone, said they would mail us a new blade assembly even though it wasn't under warranty. Why it wouldn't be under warranty since it's a moving part is beyond us. We never got it (it's been 2 weeks). We called again today, and low and behold, there's no mention in our record of us calling or of anyone sending us a new blade assembly. The folks today didn't really offer to...

Really Cheaply Made
Not at all worth the 79 dollars spent. Really nice idea, I mean it has variable speed and that is what I wanted, but the container lid is really cheap and doesn't fit tightly and the center part of the lid fits even worse. Then every tim eI have used it so far it smells very bad of burning motor windings. It has not quit or anything but it seems like it is struggling. I almost sent it back but the next blender that I know of that has variable speed starts at about 400 dollars so I will keep it and see how long it lasts.
