just what i needed
this was more than i expected, it is what was promised and more, I expected a little pencil thin stick...
1 inch diameter ceramic rod
Was disappointed with this. It seem like the ceramic is a coating onto some other material and doesn't feel like solid ceramic. It okay for daily kitchen knives.
Coarse ceramic stick
This ceramic stick is relatively coarse. I use much finer grit sharpening stones so it is not very useful for me. It dropped by accident on the floor and a 4 inch piece broke off. It is ok you are looking to sharpen utility knives. I would not consider using this on any of my knives at home where I have better sharpening stones and steels.
