Not what I was expecting
I've owned a brass handled Eze-Lap sharpener since the early '90's. I carried it with me in Desert Storm where I used it to keep most of my unit's knifes sharp. That original Eze-Lap has been in storage for a couple years and I finally broke down and bought another one. At least I thought I was buying the same one.
This item is also an Eze-Lap and it does have a diamond hone stick on it but that's about all the similarity there is with the original one I have. This one has a cheap plastic handle (instead of heavy brass handle) that holds the hone loosely (brass one has the hone screw on to it for solid fit). The hone itself is just a couple inches long (compared to almost 4" long on original) and more narrow than the picture shows. It does sharpen knives but is too small for any but small pocket knives. No way I'll try my Gerber MK II on it. Can't wait until I get my stuff out of storage and find my original.
Would recommend spending the money on the brass...
