Worked awesome
Bought one of these off eBay for a soldier in my husbands unit while they were in Iraq for Christmas (the only thing he wanted was a snow cone for Christmas...lol!) and hubby said it was the best! They could use kool-aid, powerade, gatorade...just about anything to flavor the ice and it made some AWESOME treats for them! He liked it so much we got one for here at home! He said it worked great on cubed ice and it got A LOT if use and the guy was able to send it back home when they came home! So I figure if something can outlast 30+ guys using it constantly for over 6 months....it will last around my house with the 3 monsters I have running around here! LOL
At-home Smoothie-sort-of
Bought for my kidney-dialysis husband who has to limit liquids, I am pleased that the ice shaver allows him to have pineapple/cranberry, other juices in small amounts. The grandchildren like it too, and the treat costs almost nothing.
Freezing the juices works better than pouring them over plain shaved ice. Suggestion: Use liquid from canned fruit. Mix different flavors together. Experiment with spices, blueberries, citrus juices.
Eh its okay
I got this at a garage sale for 5 bucks, it shaves ice okay but the handle on top that you have to turn to move the ice seems very week. It works, but I wouldn't recommend holding the little handle on top alone to turn the wheel. Not worth the price from pampered chef, I'm sure you could get something as good if not better from walmart.
