Beautiful results - but short life
I just got done cleaning up after using this to roast a chicken tonight. The results were beautiful and I have never had as easy a time cleaning a roasting pan. I am glad I decided to buy this when it was recommended.
One note: If you want a beautifully-presented whole chicken, this might not be the item for you because the cone expanded the cavity in the bottom of the chicken so that it almost looked like there had been an explosion. It had no effect on the taste results, though.
Revision to my review: I should have updated this at least a couple months ago and apologize to anyone who bought this due to my review as it was. I have downgraded this from 5 stars to 3 because I, too, have had problems with the non-stick material beginning to peel off after way too few uses for that to be acceptable. When I purchase another pan like this, it is definitely not going to be nonstick.
Non-stick surface peels off really early
This was a great concept...vertical chicken roaster with room for braised veggies, potatoes, all in one dish. BUT... after the third use this pan gave up pieces of its non-stick surface on the inside edge where it curves up on the bowl...adding those tasty non-stick morsels to my dinner. YUK. And no, I didn't use a Brillo pad to clean it, just a nylon scrubbing sponge. I would expect this kind of disinigration after a couple of years, but not on the the third use.
I don't recommend this cookware.
Simple and the Chickens love it
Foodie here... And I love to cook. This simple pan makes roasting a chicken a pleasure. No major clean up. Just season the bird and put it on the cone. Pop it in the oven and walk away. Check in from time to time for a little basting until golden brown.
This inexpensive coooking tool is worth a whole lot more. The design works !
